A luggage tag for intentional bus 1

The air is pine. We’re in the Arctic Circle and our bus just had to slow and drive around reindeer. The vehicles are all big. Forest here is less dense. Roads are broad and not too wiggly but with the same weathered potholes we’ve got in Edinburgh. The weather is inclement and cool. Low cloud. Already damp from bus queue. We cross a bridge being repaired from river erosion and the views in the rain are almost Scottish. We pass a marked ski-doo route, not so Scottish. American cars sit on driveways beside pickup trucks, tractors, and Ladas. Huge wood stacks of chopped and stacked firewood - community reserves or for sale? Chalets have ladders out of loft windows - teen escape routes? The bus wrong-orders it and visits every tiny hotel on the way to the main resorts, I guess seasonally to collect people from those hotels on the way to the resort, but it’s summer. Houses look practical then suddenly it’s luxury cabins. Closer to the slopes the log of the cabin is more performative. Truly we’re in cloud. Someone’s water bottle flip top fires open like a champagne cork. We can’t see more than 30 meters.
