Again I seem confused by how much of the year has passed already. Some bits and bobs of leave, some lovely socialising, some axe sharpening and log chopping, cinema to see The Sheep Detectives, some volunteering, a tribute to Brian Bonsor down in Hawick, brewing at Stewart Brewing (a chocolate stout and a cherry stout), a wee Glasgow work trip, some Arkham, lots of bike repairing, some house door lock repairing, summer heat, and working on my 5k time.

  Such an awesome KEXP set - loving this band and wish I could make it to the Edinburgh gig (but it’s just a bit too 🤑 as it’s part of a festival)

• Eins, Zwei, Drei (The Eurovision Lipsync Version) - Look Mum No Computer

  I still haven’t got over the madness of Sam being chosen for Eurovision and that his social media was filled with museum telephone exchange fabrication, Rolls Royce Merlin engine build, Austin Seven coachwork, a baby, and Eurovision all smushed together. There can’t have been many performers who also built their sets. Great job.

  A song written from TripAdvisor review. Funny and true.

  Bleepy bloopy space music frae Eigg.

• I Have The Answer - Been Stellar

  S6es with more guitar skills than I ever had played this at the kid’s school Spring concert and it blew my mind.

• I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked - Ida Maria

  An absolute banger of a tune, nice to rediscover the album.

• Witching Hour - Witch Post

  Heard on Radio 6, loving it. Scottish+LA sound.

• Brothers On The Slide - Cymande

  My fault for listening on a crap speaker but I thought this sounded like new Red Hot Chili Peppers, not 70s British funk/reggae - very cool and glad to have heard it for the first time.

• Dirty Wedding Dress - Bleachers

  “everyone for ten minutes” doesn’t really have as many of the bops that I was hoping for but it’s alright as I’m sure they’ll still rock in Glasgow in November.

  Can’t get over the Coachella set! As Alive As You Need Me To Be was nuts!

• Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters

  Forget the new album, this video surfaced and is Foos at their best.

• Naraka - Boards Of Canada

  Just out under too much hype, needs a few more listens.
